When I run Thunderbird 1.5 under KDE 3.5, the icon in the
taskbar shows up as an 'X'. Now when I run Firefox, I see
the Firefox icon. Is this a problem with the thunderbird
    binary, or rather KDE itself?
    -Thanks

How did you install Thunderbird? By a package manager or a
binary file from mozilla. How do you run? From the
    commandline or a shortcut.

I installed my copy of TB from binary and launched either
from a shortcut or commandline and I get the correct icon.
    KDE 3.3.0
    Suse 9.2
