collapsed borders around table sections cause severevisual glitches

Hello,
I've just noticed that at least since KDE 3.5.4 borders around table sections
are shifted by some offset correlating with the border width in some way.
Though not a severe bug by itself, it makes konqueror look terminally broken.
The attached testcase demonstrates the problem.
As soon as the thead style rule is commented out, the wrong behaviour
vanishes.
Can those who manipulated table sections recently look into this please?
