Skype runs only on the graphics screen, as far as I know. Is there a
textconsole clone? , if not, can skype be handled via keyboard shortcuts?

Unfortunately, Skype, being proprietary, only works in X, and has very
little if any keyboard shortcuts at all.

You might be better off looking into a SIP solution, as that is a much
more open standard, and a lot more software/hardware works with it.
