    Dear list,
some weeks ago - during Malaga aKademy - there was a request for
    * evaluating existing applications
    * devising new programs for KDE-Edu
By then, I had collected some ideas in German, meanwhile there is an
    English translation at
    *
    *
As I get another idea every day, I wonder what place is best for wishes?
    Maybe even kde/edu bugzilla?
    Regards
    Ralf

I see nothing (blank page) when pointing my browser to those pages.

Good question i don't think you can create new bugs in bugzilla for programs
that do not exist yet :-)

So sending them to the list or creating some external page (as you are doing)
seems a good solution for me.

This is next to impossible - could others please check? If this is
reproducable, it must be the browser's language settings

    Hi,

    I saw the right pages!

Some comments to the ideas. A lot of the dynamic worksheets can be realized
easily with existing math-applets like geogebra (www.geogebra.at). The
maintainer opened a wiki to collect worksheets, for example for fractions
    ()

How can such applets be integrated in a native KDE-Prog?

    Regards Birgit

    Dear Birgit,

thanks for your valuable hint - I put it on the Desiderata page.

I suppose, this is Java applets? There is some qt-bindings for java
(koala?) but I don't know if they allow to use java applets within
    qt-applications.

course, most KDE systems have some brand of java-vm, so the applets
    also work for KDE uses.

    Hi Albert,

are you behind any proxy? Can you browse any other pages in the Wiki?
Can you browse skolelinux.de? What does a wget display? How does the
souce code for the blank page look like?

Yes, any page that is not the wiki

Works and also works with links and lynx :-S

When using mozilla or firefox i get nothing :-S

I tried to debug the connection with telnet but seems you are using some kind
of virtual server thingy that does not like the HTTP i can speak though
    telnet.

Koala is mainly for developing KDE applications in Java. The Java applet
integration code is calls KJAS (KDE Java applet server) which is codewise in
    kdelibs/khtml/java

It should be possible to embed that into a KDE application the same way it
    currently gets embedded into KHTML.

    Cheers,

No, such things are the job of a compiler, for example gcj

KJAS is like the Java plugins the other browsers are using, but additionally
allows to change the Java environment before starting the applet, for example
    registering protocol handlers.

This is used to have Java applets talk through kio_http and thus share cookies
and authentification data. In theory it would also allow an applet to use any
    other "protocol" supported by KI

    Cheers,
    Kevin

    Hello again ;)

as far as I can see, Geogebra usually combines algebraic tasks with
geometric sketches. However, what I thought of is rather rendered by
    this script:

    #uebungenerzeugen

Natively it might be the easiest way to generate some code for oomath or
kformula and pass it on to the right application.
