well, I feel a bit silly telling you to send a PR, only to have everyone
(including me) ignore it for almost 5 years. oh well.
this report was shortly after the UBC code was first merged, when the system
was still quite unstable. lots of problems have since been fixed, and this
was likely one of them. do you still see this problem with later releases?
