The QA Engineer position will be extremely challenging and rewarding. In addition, the most successful candidates will be excited to work on industry-leading solutions, which have been proven via many angles with major industry reviews and awards, and on a team which produces and expects stellar work from every member. The most successful candidates will be motivated self-starters who can “own” their piece of the project while serving to augment our world-class development staff and in turn ensure the continued production of our high quality suite of products. We are a very large open source shop and employ a number of other leading technologies, including virtual machines, blade and multi-core servers, etc. We work in a highly collaborative environment which requires great communication and teamwork skills. Therefore, you will be working closely with our engineering group on a daily basis during the full life-cycle development process. Your attention to detail i
s critical as you are creating, maintaining and executing test cases and plans and automating as it makes sense. Prioritizing QA tasks and defects will also be paramount to your success in this role.
JB REQUIREMENTS
Basic requirements are:
•Minimum of 7+ years experience in quality assurance
•Background in quality assurance best practices
•Test case and test plan management, creation, and execution
•Defect tracking and test case management systems and concepts
•Prior team leadership or management experience a plus
•Hands on experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL or
•Testing experience with Linux and other UNIX-like operating systems a must, Windows S helpful
•Experience with low cost or internally developed test automation tools helpful
•Previous UI testing experience, ideally web-based
•Shell scripting (bash, csh, etc.)
• scripting, like with Perl or Python
•Good familiarity with IP networking preferred
•Strong and proven attention to detail
