Hello!
I'm trying to get my Hauppauge HVR 1300 working with the alpha version
of the drivers. I fetched the tree from
http://linuxtv.org/hg/~stoth/v4l-dvb.
It compiles fine, make install gives me a few errors though. I've been
told to ignore these errors by people in #v4l.
Then modprobing cx88-dvb, i get a Segmentation fault, and dmesg tells me
this:
bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture

This, apparently, isn't very nice.
Any ideas what could cause this?

Thank you for your reply. I need to share video stream and embed it
onto a Web Page for Surveillance purpose. I'm writing to you in the hope
that you will be able to help me to solve the problem. Thanks :)
Hi,
I had something running quite well for long using mp4live (up to
mpeg4ip-1.3) from mpeg4ip.sf.net, DarwinStreamingServer and embedded
the .mov referrer in a PHP NUKE module. the client side mplayerplug-
in with life libs did well.

Hi,
I've tried mpeg4ip and Darwin as reflector a few days ago but mpeg4ip is not
designed for real time display of data as well as does not allow me to see
video in real time; it's too slow. I need something which will allow me to
see video stream as soon as possible. Thanks
best regards
Ah, you are talking about a few msecs and not some secs. The above is of
course not for msecs, but could do already something on an average
consumer level 628Kb upstream link. If you spread it and/or make
commercial use of it you have to consider the license issues anyway.
So maybe you might want to look at projects like this one too,
assuming you have plenty of bandwidth and need the full stream.

Would be interesting to hear about a possible solution and the costs.
Cheers,
Hermann
