Well, the archives seem to indicate that this question hasn't been asked
    since April, so here goes
Is there any support currently available for the ATI TV Wonder Elite?
I've been googling on this for a while and I keep running into dead ends.
But perhaps someone here knows whether there is any development under way to
    support this card?
If not, can anyone recommend a card with comparable ratings and quality?
This card seems to get the best ratings (for standard definition anyway) due
to its digital receiver and comb filters, etc, etc. So I would really love
to use it for my PVR even if I had to wait a month or two for someone to
    finish the drivers for it!
    Thanks,
    David

What chips are on the card? If it's something like a cx88 or SAA7xxx
chip, it should be fairly easily supportable. If it's one of ati's tv
chips you are out of luck as ati has not provided specs to any of
their newer hardware and they don't seem willing to any time soon at
    the moment.

The chipset is called "Theater 550", though that probably doesn't mean
    anything useful.

The following link has some good information that may be useful (lspci -vv
    output):

    Thanks,

Looks like I found a more recent thread on this chipset:
Have there been any responses from ATI since these questions were asked?
    Thanks,

I haven't heard anything but I wouldn't hold out much hope. Ati has
been pretty much closed up spec-wise since the r4xx radeons were
    released.

    Thanks,
