Do you have any search folders? If you do, you should delete them because they make KMail
crawl along at slower than snail's pace whenever you read, send or delete mail.

I didn't realise that configuring Reply-To would pose any problems. I've
removed it now.

Sorry, since for long time I used to use MUA that not have
reply-to-mailing list function ( The Bat! under win32, sylpheed-claws
under win32 then under linux). I always use Reply key for everything,
it's motoric :-)

KMail 1.8 has mailing list management under the main menu Folder
