Hallo,
ich hab 1.) gegoogelt und 2.) in der suse-support-db dazu gesucht
nach 2.) es, es hat Probleme gegeben, aber durch die neuen subfs
und noch was, geht alles, wenn man updatet - hmm, gemacht und nix da!
laut 1.) sollte man die usb selber mounten auch nix, wenn auch etwas
mehr (immerhin lesbar) als durch Suse selbst.
Aber der Reihe nach
meine USB-Hd (mit ntfs) zum sichern nutzen:
Auf KDE-Ebene:
Wenn ich sie einstecke, kommt das Logo auf den Desktop, ich will es
geht aber nicht:
/ sich nicht
Gut, also auf Konsole:
der /
sich auch da nicht :
Cannot read directory content
sagt mir mein mc.
Mache ich eine umount:
umount -v /
krieg ich die B
/dev/sda1
mache ich nun ein mount (mit einem anderen mount-Punkt)
mount -v -w -t ntfs /dev/sda1 /media/usbTARGA
krieg ich
/dev/sda1 on /media/usbTARGA type ntfs (rw)
Jubel, denk ich mir, gehe (mit mc) in usbTARGA und kann deren Inhalt
lesen, ein
cd /media/usbTARGA
ls
bringt
. Lidl Fotoservice Software System Volume Information
(ja, ja, es ist von Lidl)
aber wenn ich jetzt etwas draufkopieren will, oder nur einen
erzeugen, sagt mir mc:
Das Dateisystem ist nur lesbar (30)
und aus die Maus.
Hmm, ich denk einmal, dass Lidl keine (fast) leeren Festplatten
verkauft, die nur lesbar (gejumpert?) sind, ergo zickt Susi.
Liegt es daran, dass ntfs durch Susi 9.1 nicht beschrieben werden
kann/konnte?
Kann man das das trotzdem hinkriegen? - Wie?

IIRC ist bei Suse 9.1 der Schreibzugriff auf NTFS noch nicht
aktiviert.

I think one of the "plusses" of the newer SuSE versions was the write
support for NTFS.
So why not update to SuSE 10.x ? It should give
you write support for NTFS.
big grin, this backup to that HD is the first step to upgrade either to
10.2 or 9.3 - I'll see.

And since we are on a security mailinglist. SuSE 9.1 is no longer
maintained. So this is another reason to upgrade :-)
Well, I wanted to wait until I don't read anymore about serious problems
of the newest Suse distro. See this fight with the HD and the DVD cost
me about 2 days trying, and after I read about the automated update
problems I decided to wait
