    Subject: ulimit change does not persist across system boot
    In a RH Enterprise 3 system,
    when I changed the value of user root ulimit :
    ulimit -n 4096
    this change did not persist across system boots.
    Besides putting it in root's profile,
    who do I make this change permanent ?
    /etc/security/limits.conf
    user hard/soft nofile 4096
    or
    @group hard/soft nofile 4096
