Summary: translucency suddenly slows down rendering after about a
    day without problems
    Product: kwin
    Version: unspecified
    Platform: Debian testing
    S/Version: Linux
    Status: UNCNFIRMED
    Severity: normal
    Priority: NR
    Component: general
    AssignedTo: kwin kde org
    ReportedBy: bschatz purdue edu
    Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
    Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
    S: Linux
Translucency works great for about a day, then suddenly slows down desktop rendering to a crawl. menus will hang after drawing the shadow, before drawing the menu itself. graphical response time for everything is affected the same. It seems like the pixel buffers are full or something like that. The only way to resolve the problem is to reboot the machine.
I'm using a GeForce 6200 with 256M of vram. CPU is a P4, and I have 2G of ram. Kernel 2.6.17, Debian stable, KDE 3.5.4
