Thank you for the swift reply. I have tried to unpack the perl directory
and tried it once freshly. This has been done in database with
HP-UX Release Ver11i.
This time I have got a different error.
Kindly find the error in err.doc and the myconfig in myconfig.txt and
the parameter that I have inputted while configuration in parameter.doc
Kindly suggest what could be done . The perl-5.8.8 has been downloaded
from the site http://search.cpan.org/~nwclark/perl-5.8.8/INSTALL

To have these kinds of problems, there must have been a problem earlier
in your compile. In a clean, locally mounted directory, can you please
unpack the Perl directoy and make another attempt? Also, please send
the output of ./myconfig after you compile your Perl.
