    Can I code ANY Axis2 service and Java client application with AXIM only and
    then deploy it as described in the user guide?
    I saw discussion on the need for WSDL. Are the data-bindings (xmlbeans, ADB)
    not required for writing Axis2 applications, either?.

    Yes, you can.

    Not at all. Databinding is for your convenience only.
    Client Side : If you know the WSDL and knows what to send, better work
    with AXIM.
    Serverside : its much more efficient to use AXIM directly.
