    Hello Bob,
until a couple of days ago, the rxtx javax.comm (ie 2.0) branch was
behind the rxtx gnu.io (ie 2.1) branch. I have not yet checked if
Trent has migrated all recent changes from 2.1 to 2.0.
I have added the XCode project and updated documentation only to the
gnu.io branch. the 2.0 implementation is up to date I will copy
over the documentation/build files make them work.
    Best regards,
    Joachim

I'm one of the developers for the JMRI project, which provides
model railroad software in Java. We've been using RXTX to provide
serial port access on MS X and Linux; we use the old javax.comm
2.0 on Windows, S/2 and Solaris. Because of that, we need to stay
    with RXTX 2.0, not 2.1
We've been using the 2.0-pre17 installer for a long time, but it's
    not compatible with Intel macs.
Can you point me to where I can find the right files for RXTX 2.0
    to package with the program?
The current situation is confusing to me. I've been pointed to
recent 2.1 versions (but we need the javax.comm names), to an even
older installer, etc. I've been reading that some versions require
an installer, and others don't, but I haven't been able to figure
out which (if any) of those are where in CVS.
I'd really appreciate a clear statement of what files to use and
what to do with them that I can pass on to our users.
I'm more than happy to put files in the local classpath, have users
run an installer, or anything else. Whatever is easiest for you.
Thanks! I really appreciate all that you do to keep RXTX working.
    Bob
