    cap-talk,
I just wanted to clarify a bit why this discussion about how
practical PLA is with capabilities (how complex, costly,
UI issues, etc.) is important to me and why now.
Generally it's important to me because I see significant
potential value coming from PLA systems (security/
integrity and yes, simplicity). The oft repeated argument
that PLA systems and in particular capability systems
are more complex (and thus costly - even if one can try
to justify the additional costs as providing a security
benefit) is the most significant barrier to achieving any
practical (read market) value from capability-based PLA.
It's important to me now because I've started working on
the "Horton" paper (Delegating Responsibility in Digital
Systems) and I want to have all my thoughts lined up.
I'm not sure how much of this basic argument for the
value of capability systems we'll include, but I'd like to
have a clear picture of what's possible.
Thanks DavidW, MarcS, and all for contributing thoughts!
