Subject: [Samba] Samba 3.0.14a runs on Windows XP and BartPE

Using the patch
I am able to run Samba 3.0.14a on a Windows XP box as well as under
BartPE (WinPE).
Details on the steps involved are listed at
A better patch would be to use a RT_UID define, as outlined here:
To quote:
"Although this patch was motivated by Cygwin, it should
be very usable by other odd-ball Unixes (if any) where the root UID is
not zero."
If a Samba committer is interested in this, I would be happy to make the
required changes and submit the patch.
Let me know,
Ross
